Members of the Le Sueur County Historical Society elected a new face to its board of directors at the organization’s annual meeting on April 28. Paula Cihla-Sexton of Montgomery was chosen by popular vote and will take the seat formerly occupied by Mike Fredrick. Paula CihlaSexton is a Minnesota historian, genealogist, and community leader born and raised in Lonsdale and now based in Montgomery. She is President of the Montgomery Historical Society, a Board Member of the Minnesota Genealogical Society, chair of two committees, Treasurer of Sokol Minnesota, and active in numerous Czech and historical organizations nationwide. She also hosts “Czech’rd Past,” a weekly podcast exploring unusual and overlooked stories from history, including her upcoming episode on the 1858 unsolved murder in Lexington, MN.
